(2013) A new government initiative designed to slash urban youth unemployment is set to launch soon. The initiative will see £50m divided between eight key regional cities. And with Salford recently being named as the toughest place in the country to find a job; this comes as a huge relief to those affected by unemployment.
At The English Interiors Company we are proud to boast that we have been manufacturing all of our Sofas, Corner Sofas and Sofa Beds in the UK, specifically Manchester, for over 60 years. Manufacturing bespoke, vintage and contemporary sofas has been at the heart of our company throughout this time; and we are delighted to be passing this knowledge and traditions onto a new generation of talented upholsterers and apprentices.

In a visit to our showroom, Nick Clegg spent time finding out about our manufacturing processes, chatting with our apprentices and even gave a helping hand putting the final touches on our Crompton Fabric Chesterfield Sofa. It was a visit that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
With this new initiative, coupled with the governments existing wage incentive scheme; we can see a brighter future for the unemployed youth of Greater Manchester.
